Our founders, Debra Shantz, and Becky Selle are united in the belief that affordable family housing could deliver invaluable benefits. Sustainable Management, Inc. was born. A company established to develop single and multi-family affordable housing in accord with the Missouri Housing Development Commission (MHDC) guidelines. As an added benefit, we are also a WBE (Women Business Enterprise).

Becky Selle

Becky has dedicated her entire career to providing affordable housing to families. She has developed well over 400 units of affordable housing and takes great pride in offering families a sustainable home that offers more than just a roof over their heads. From development to financing to compliance, Becky Selle has the necessary experience and proven track record to guarantee that a project will be a step above the norm.

Debra Shantz

Shantz had 13 years of development experience working as John Q. Hammons general counsel and advisor prior to moving into the LITC world. Debbie entered the Affordable Housing world with a set of questions: “What if a housing development could offer more than just housing? “What kinds of services would really impact residents’ lives in a positive way?” She found the answers by creating strategic partnerships with the non-profit organizations already entrenched in the community. Debbie inspires communities to work together to provide the essential support services necessary to break the cycle of poverty.

As a tax credit specialist, Debbie has a command of Low Income Tax credits, both state and federal.
